Request deletion by email
To ask Svensson Labs to delete personal information we may process in connection with My GPS:
- Email svenssonlabs@proton.me.
- Use the subject Data deletion request – My GPS.
- Describe which information or activity your request concerns. No account is needed. Do not include GPS coordinates, API keys, passwords or other sensitive information.
We review and respond without undue delay, normally within one month where the GDPR applies. We may ask for the minimum information necessary to identify records. We will explain if we do not have access to the requested data.
Delete data on your device
My GPS does not require an account. It stores the following information in the app's private storage on your phone: journey history, destinations, saved places, profile name and optional photo, chosen car Bluetooth identifier, and app preferences.
- Individual journeys and saved places: remove these from the trip-history and saved-place features in the app.
- All local app data: open Android Settings → Apps → My GPS → Storage → Clear data (wording varies by device), or uninstall the app. This removes locally stored app data from the device.
Svensson Labs cannot remotely access or delete data stored only inside the app's private storage on your device. Sending an email does not automatically erase that local information.
What data may be deleted?
Local data: trips, favourites, profile details, selected car connections and settings can be removed using the steps above. Such data normally remains until you delete it or remove app data; we do not promise automatic deletion within 90 days.
Support requests: you may request deletion of emails and personal information we actually hold when they are no longer needed and no legal requirement applies.
Crash and diagnostic data: the app uses Google Firebase Crashlytics. We will assess whether data relating to your request can be identified, removed or de-identified within our control.
Data that may remain and retention periods
Online mapping, directions, searches, traffic, weather, satellite imagery and optional AI may transmit IP addresses, coordinates or requests to independent service providers, including map/route services, weather providers, Google Firebase and your chosen AI provider. Submitting a request to Svensson Labs does not automatically delete records held independently by those providers. Each provider's policy governs its processing and retention; you may need to contact that provider directly.
Records we must retain for legal obligations, such as necessary documentation of a privacy request, may be kept for the legally required period. We cannot promise a single universal deletion deadline for unrelated third-party services.
